Riderman to headline Iwacu Muzika Festival this Saturday

Rapper Riderman will tonight entertain music lovers with a live performance at the ongoing Iwacu Muzika Festival 2021 scheduled for this Saturday, October 23.

This virtual event will take place at Kigali Arena and, as usual, will be broadcast live on Rwanda Television at 8:45pm.

Riderman, real name Emery Gatsinzi will headline the show after his last big performance at the Afrobasket 2021 championship. The Rwandan star had an amazing year as he and wife welcomed twins in June.

Upon being confirmed to grace the festival for the third time, Riderman told The New Times that he is honoured to have been invited at this year’s festival.

" Being invited to perform at Iwacu Muzika Festival again is a good gesture which shows that they recognize what we do a musicians. My fans should expect a great performance as usual; with songs they liked years back and also recent ones.

" Ibisumizi studio has resumed its work, so we welcome artistes, everyone who needs sound, to make documentaries and companies who need to do advertisement, "He says.

The multi-award winning hip-hop artiste said that he is working on his a new album dubbed ‘Kimirantare’ which is almost done, and has released some of the songs on the album.

He will headline the festival, following previous performances by Platini who opened the festival on June 26, RDF Military Band, Mani Martin, Cyusa Ibrahim, Peace Jolis and Naason Solist and Edouce Softman, Bruce Melodie, Israel Mbonyi, a double experience with Bushali and Bluestone, Yverry, Marina and Mbanda, Abdul Makanyaga and a double experience of Symphony Band and Bosco Niyo, Uncle Austin, Aline Gahongayire and Social Mula who performed last Saturday.

Iwacu Muzika Festival, which seeks to promote the Rwandan music industry bringing together different artistes in their age brackets on the same stage, is organized by East African Promoters, in partnership with the ministry of Youth and Culture, Tembera u Rwanda, RBA, among others.
