Rising singer Sobermind to release new music, playlist

Upcoming Rwandan artiste Sobermind is set to release his new playlist with a new face in the music industry.

Real name Kevin Nshuti Mugabo, the artiste who does rap as his music genre is looking to explore other genres.

"I love music, it’s like therapy to me, going deep in those frequencies and vibrations, there’s medicine,” said Nshuti.

After a long time without releasing a song, Nshuti has excellent plans for the future, including a five-song playlist featuring Romeo cartel, set to be released on October 15.

"I grew up exploring music in every angle, and since then it became my best friend” he added.

Nshuti joined the music industry in 2018 when he released "Grind,” which he says was just a trial that created a pathway for him in that industry.

"I get inspired by my daily life, past events and, a beat which all generate a certain vibe, and hence I create my songs,” he said.

He added that the people around him also play a significant role in the creation of his music.

So far, Nshuti has released more than 10 songs, most of which are features, which he says have helped him gain a local fanbase and exposure to fantastic opportunities, which he has exploited. Some of his songs are; ‘3 a.m. In The Booth’, featuring Ny honest & Woo Suu and, ‘The loop.

"Rwandan music is like a ticking bomb about to explode,” Nshuti stated, "the old Rwandan musicians have been cooking and building our music, and with the new generation stepping in to finalize it, the world will finally know that there’s so much talent hidden in the heart of Africa.”

Asked about the challenges he has encountered along the way, Nshuti replied that the most difficult challenge he faced was finding a way to finish some projects due to various issues, but that he learned to take advantage of every opportunity he was given in order to achieve his goals.

"I aspire to be great and leave a mark on music history,” the artiste said, adding that he is primarily focused on his work as an artist, staying open to engaging with his audience  Hence continuing to evolve in music.
