Kiyovu Sports Club have signed experienced Ugandan striker Emmanuel Arnold Okwi on a one-year deal.

"We are delighted to confirm that forward Emmanuel Okwi has signed a one-year contract. Welcome Okwi," Kiyovu Sports chairman, Juvénal Mvukiyehe said in a statement.

Besides being a key player for the Uganda national team which he captains, Okwi has played for a number of clubs in his country and out of it.

The 28-year-old wasn’t playing for any team after parting ways with Egypt's Alexandria Ittihad.

At Kiyovu Sports, he finds fellow new signings who include Congolese striker Pinoki Vuvu Patsheli from AS Maniema de Kindu in the Democratic Republic of Congo and defender Ndayishimiye Thierry from Marines FC.

Okwi has previously played at Uganda’s Sports Club, both of Tanzania’s top clubs Simba and Yanga as well as brief stints in Tunisia (Etoile Du Sahel) and Denmark (SønderjyskE Fodbold).
