Local gospel artiste Prosper Nkomezi was on Sunday, September 26, involved in a car accident in Kigali. In a tweet, the singer expressed gratitude for having survived a bad car accident.

Nkomezi tells Weekender that the accident occurred in the morning on his way back from an interview where he launched his new song dubbed ‘Nzakingura’. 

"I was alone in the car from an interview when one of the car’s tires exploded, overturning the car,” he says.

Nkomezi says that luckily, he managed to get out of the car and only incurred minor injuries that were treated at a nearby hospital.

"I am recovering, and I am thankful for God’s protection. It is God’s plan, we all wake up and plan different activities but we never know where death comes from. I am grateful for having survived this accident, it was really awful,” he says.

This is not the first time the ‘Sinzahwema’ singer has survived a horrible car accident. There was another incident in 2019. Nkomezi is known for songs like ‘Nziyivuga’, ‘Humura’, and ‘Urarinzwe’.
