Effective October 1, Canal Plus Rwanda will add English language channels to its bouquets which is among other novelties expected in the coming month to help Canal Plus clients usher in the festive season with better experience.
Those 15 channels are Telemundo, Nickelodeon, Discovery, Super Sport Premier league, Super Sport La Liga, Africa News, One Magic, Zee World among others.
As part of the new offerings, there will be English basic bouquet, which will cost Rwf8,000 per month and English Plus featuring 15 channels that will go for Rwf20,000.
The English offerings will be added to any of the original bouquets that have been available for subscribers, which are Ikaze, Zamuka, Zamuka na Siporo and Ubuki.
According to Sophie Tchatchoua, Managing Director of Canal Puls Rwanda, the channels were added in honour of requests from some of the English-speaking clients.
"We had a number of clients who had requested English channels and as a company that works in the interest of their clients, we have now fulfilled their wish,” she said during the launch of the new channels on Wednesday, September 29 at Canal Olympia.
She added that all these channels are brought by Canal Plus Rwanda to facilitate their subscribers to usher in the festive season with glitz and glamour.
However, the English channels were also accompanied by more other channels in different categories.
World of sports
A part from football, Canal+ broadcast different sporting disciplines such as basketball, tennis, rugby, wrestling, boxing, golf and cycling, among others.
Those sports channels are Canal Sport +1, Canal Sport +2, Canal Sport + 3, Canal + Sport 4 and Canal Sport +5.
Popular football leagues from Europe to be broadcast on the new channels include Europa League, Ligue 1, La Liga, Bundesliga and UEFA Champions League among others.
Children channels
Thinking about children and young people staying at home, mainly due to the restrictions of Covid-19, Canal Plus has come up with an educative channel to keep children both educated and entertained.
Set to be first premiered on September 30, Nathan TV is the first educative channel to be featured on Canal Plus, answering the question "How to turn a home into a class”.
Other channels
Among other newly featured channels on Canal Plus bouquets, include Canal Plus Premiere, and Canal Plus Pop.
Canal Plus Premiere: This is an exclusivity channel offering movies, entertainment and interviews with celebrities from different backgrounds: movie stars, singers, fashion designers and other celebrities of all categories.
Canal Plus Pop
This is all about shows, TV realities, humor, comedy, and others. The channel also includes renowned talk shows like Four weddings in one honey moon and Start-up which highlights African heritage, and victories of Africa in its emissions.
These channels will add on the existing channels such as:
Canal Plus Cinema which broadcasts new movies every day ranging from action, and horror movies among others.
Canal Plus Action for action movies.
Canal Plus Family for social life and inter-relationships among people living together.
Canal Plus Elles for women empowerment.
