21-YEAR-OLD Bryan Muhumure is the founder of VETTERO, a fashion brand whose collections he describes as rich in people’s eyes.

The Architectural Technician student at Algonquin College in Ottawa released his first product in June 2021 when he arrived in Canada.

He had always felt like the world was in need of what he could bring to the fashion industry.

Muhumure’s inspiration for design came when he was watching one of the greatest designer’s speech, Abloh, the owner and founder of OFF-WHITE and the artistic designer of LV, who said,

"People are God’s masterpieces and the clothes are people’s arts other than being used as essentials to cover themselves.”

He said that the speech compelled him to start drawing and drafting some shoes, adding that it boosted his love for fashion designing.

"I love fashion because through it, I get to play with beautiful colours and ideas from the draft to the real world,” he said.

He revealed that fashion has made him an influencer because people get to learn from him by doing what is best for their lives.

Tackling the fashion industry in Rwanda, he said that the next generation is in good hands since they already have great fashion designers who are young and sharp with many ideas that will make Rwanda proud.

Among those, are some he had collaborated with, such as Deo Amini, the Founder of Urutozi Gakondo and Pacifique Muhire, founder of Intare Closets.

Muhumure has also earned people’s trust and love as well as knowledge, adding that the more he digs deeper into the industry, the more he gets to explore new stuff and ideas.

His challenge is that currently; he is not ble to sell to everyone. However, he is working on many projects that he believes will boost his name.
