AS Kigali head coach Eric Nshimiyimana has said that his side is ready for the first leg match against Comoros side Olympique de Missir, in the upcoming CAF Confederation Cup first-round, scheduled on September 10 at Stade Omnisports De Malouzini.

The 2019 Peace Cup champions departed for Comoros aboard an Ethiopian Airlines flight on Tuesday, September 7 and Nshimiyimana says they will be aiming for nothing but a positive result away to ease pressure on them when they host the second leg, the following weekend in Kigali.

"I believe we have a strong squad which can get a good result away from home. Our goal is to get a good result in Comoros. Olympique de Missir are a strong side, we have tried to watch some of their previous matches and we are ready for the challenge,” said the former APR and Amavubi skipper

In the CAF Confederation Cup, AS Kigali will face Olympique de Missira of Comoros while the team that will advance in the next round will meet DC Motema Pembe of the Democratic Republic of Congo.

"Our preparations have gone pretty well and the mood is great among the players, scoring an away goal is our top priority, but keeping a clean sheet is vital to help us finish the job in the second leg in front of our fans.” He added

Meanwhile, on Monday, AS Kigali signed Olivier Sefu Niyonzima on a two year deal for Rwf20m and he is expected to earn Rwf1m per month, however he didn’t travel with the team.

Last season, AS Kigali were eliminated by CS Sfaxien in the third round of the CAF Confederation Cup.
