Amavubi national team APR FC striker Lague Byiringiro, who was injured in Rwanda’s 1-1 draw with Kenya on Sunday, will be out of action for three to six months.

The 21-year-old has been one of the most dependable players in the national team by coach Mashami.

His performance in the two games he played in CHAN 2020, especially in the match between Rwanda and Togo attracted interest from  foreign teams including European teams.

His injury means he will not be able to play for APR FC in the first two rounds of the CAF Champions League and will not play for the Amavubi in the two matches against Uganda in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.

Byiringiro was promoted to APR FC’s Senior Team in January 2018 while his two-year contract was extended in May 2020.
