France-based Rwandan singer Big Dom, had been on a music hiatus for quite some time, until recently when he made a comeback with an album produced in Europe.

Born Pascal Dominique Niyigena Cyubahiro, the ‘Ange Orange’ hitmaker, has been living in France for 10 years and just when people were wondering about his whereabouts, he bounced back with his third album.

According to the singer, he perceives Africa as an able continent with love and Pan Africanism, hence the album ‘Ongera Africa’ which is both Swahili and Kinyarwanda.

His first song on the album reminds Rwandans about their liberation and self-reliance and emphasizes on loving Africa, and work hard for its development.

Speaking to The New Times, Big Dom explained that this eight-song album dubbed took him a long time to complete. Ever since he got to France, he has been trying to find experts in music so that his album which focuses on love life, social life, peace and entertainment as well, be as big as he envisioned it to be.

"I made this album here in Paris, with the help of various producers like Vicent and Sébastien Reines (Zlavko), one of the best producers in France and entire Europe. He is an expert in this world of music, he owns a studio in Montreuil, he is the one who does audios for all of Maître Gims concerts,” he said.

Sébastien Reines (Zlavko) who works closely with big artists like Adèle, Elton John, Maître Gims, Johnny, Goldman, on the other hand, is a French musician who mostly does pop among others. He produced all the videos on this album, while Vincent produced all the audios on it.

Big Dom said that he will be releasing one song per month.

"In the period of eight months, I intend to have fully done all it takes for a major comeback that my fans deserve. Therefore, I will come for a big concert in Kigali.”

After travelling to so many countries for the sake of life and skills, Big Dom who started his music through the dance and interpreting duo named ‘Cool Family’ and later started to write his own songs like ‘Igishwi cy’Ikibinda’ which brought him to the limelight, told this publication that it is the right time to come back and work with others in building the country, Rwanda.

Some of his other songs are afro-beat, RnB, slow and others like; ‘Cyuzuzo’, ‘Imana n’urukundo’, ‘Chic Choc Chèque’ just to mention a few.
