STEVEN NTAMBARA best known as Skpado Di Shatta, or Simba wi Rwanda is a Rwandan artiste known for delivering smooth sounds and melodies for music lovers in and outside the country.

It is a dream that the 28-year-old had in high school, where he entertained with live freestyles which later introduced him to the music scene in 2017.

In an interview with The New Times, he traced his route to the music industry from the first song, to collaborating with big artistes in the country like Bulldog.

"I started music in high school at King David Academy, by doing live freestyles in shows. After graduating in 2012, I started working on my first album ‘Fresh and Clean’, later I joined university at Unilak, which hindered the progress of my projects and decided to release the album in 2017. That’s when I started making music professionally” he said.

"I was inspired by life and different people who saw the talent in me” he added.

Skpado Di Chatta has performed and worked with big recognized musicians in East Africa and other parts of the continent.

"I performed on different stages with big artistes Like Ykee Benda and A pass. I also worked with many artistes like Melody from Uganda, Spaxx from Family Squad, Davy Buka Chimey best known on hit dubbed "Beer after Beer” from Uganda and Capitee from Nigeria” He told The New Times.

He further gave a sneak peek on how he made ‘This City’, his recent song which is currently trending on all platforms.

"The song is about me telling a girl how we are going to make all the different towns of the world talk about us as a successful couple” said Skpado.

"I was inspired by some couples like the infamous Bonny and Clyde. I gave it a unique style because people usually know me as a Dancehall and Reggae person so I had to make it different by adding some Afro-Fusion and a little bit dancehall” he added.

Skpado’s vision is to see his music career recognized on an international level like some of the artistes in Rwanda.

"I want to see my music on an international level. I have started to create some connections with different promoters, presenters, producers and artistes across the world, whereby now I'm an ambassador of Moonlight in Africa, a musical company based in South Africa,” he said.

He has so far worked with top producers such as Pastor P, Holy Beat, and Davy Denko.

Some of his hit songs include "This town”, ‘Sana’ and ‘Fresh and Clean’.
