Thirteen Rwandan musicians are set to collaborate on a song under an ongoing campaign dubbed ‘Sindohoka’ which aims to comfort people in this pandemic.

The campaign was introduced by Rwanda Biomedical Centre (RBC) alongside Mastercard Foundation.

One of the artistes behind this project Andy Bumuntu explained the aim and target of the project that is set to be released soon.

"The main reason and purpose behind it, is sharing hope in line with the prevention measures for us to win over this devastating pandemic,” he told The New Times.

"Covid-10 has affected all sectors which changed people’s lives and mental health, let’s call on everyone to work together and combat it” he added.

Many Rwandan celebrities jumped on the campaign through different social media platforms.

"We live a life of great change today caused by an unexpected enemy, and if we defeat the covid-19 we will create a change that has never happened before. Don’t give up we will win” reads a tweet by Mani Martin.

"A person who has lost hope, life becomes lost and he looks at it. We Rwandans are determined to find strength and confidence. Covid-19 is slowing down a lot, losing a lot but we have no doubt that there is hope of winning it” reads a tweet by Clarisse Karasira.

"We are blessed to be alive, blessed to have made it this far so this is not the time to give up, winning is the only option” reads an Instagram post by Kivumbi King.

"Take comfort in the fact that you are not alone, the sun is about to set, don’t be discouraged and we will win” reads a tweet by Alyn Sano.

All operations are being done by a youth movement named Ngire Uruhare initiative.

The project will feature 13 artistes, including; Masamba Intore, Andy Bumuntu, Clarisse Karasira, Kivumbi King, Mani Martin, Alyn Sano, Mike Kayihura, Israel Mbonyi, Jules Sentore, Yvan Buravan, Mucyo, Peace Jolisa and Niyo Bosco.
