PRODUCER DAVID MUCYO best known as MadeBeats is set to release his first album dubbed ‘Kigali’ on December 31, this year.

The 12-song album will be a mixture of afro, hip hop, R&B and pop genres. It will only feature Rwandan artistes, both the newly young generation and the elders in the industry.

In an interview with The New Times, MadeBeats described the inspiration behind naming his album ‘Kigali’ as an identity that represents his origin.

"’Kigali’ means where it all started from. MadeBeat as a brand was born in that city which is why I preferred naming the album after Kigali, also meaning that wherever I go whatever I do, this dream started in Kigali” he said.

"The particularity of this album is that I will only feature Rwandan artistes, no international artists, because this is about Kigali and Rwanda,” he added.

The top producer further explained the process of how producers can also make albums and why it’s entitled an album yet the producer’s vocals are nowhere to be found on the project.

"In normal circumstances, the artist comes up with the idea for the beat, melody and lyrics and all I do is just to take charge of the production and engineering” he told The New Times.

"A producer’s album is a collaboration between a producer and an artist, meaning that I compose a melody for the beat then I feature the artiste who comes up with lyrics and vocals. In this case I am becoming a performing artiste through giving directions on the type of topic to talk about in the song” he further explained.

MadeBeats has established himself as one of the top music producers in the country, having been behind the production of several hit songs which have earned attention and admiration on local broadcast stations and clubs.

He is the man behind the making of ‘Katerina’ a hit that has reached 10 million views on YouTube and others including ‘Ubushyuhe’.
