Artistes who will headline Iwacu Muzika festival for their first time

Different artistes will perform for their first time at this years’ edition which is expected to run through December.

The annual musical show was opened by Platini Nemeye’s performance on June 26, live on Rwanda Television (RTV).

The second day of the festival took place on June 27, when Rwandans celebrated the 27th anniversary of liberation day and was headlined by the Rwanda Defense Force Military Band entertained Rwandans on that celebration.

This Saturday, Afro-pop singer Mani Martin is expected to entertain Rwandans for its third time.

However, this year’s edition has lined up a number of local artistes that will be performing for their time. They include;

Chris Hat

Singer Suliman Hategekimana, best known as Chris hat, told The New Times that he will be performing at Iwacu Muzika Festival this year.

The singer signed under Alex Muyoboke caught people’s attention with his voice after releasing his first song called ‘Niko yaje’.

"It is a great opportunity to be given such platform to perform and I am sure my fans and Rwandans at large will enjoy it. I am used to singing live and my fans should expect good performance as usual,” he says.

Yvanny Mpano

Yves Mutangana, commonly known as Yvanny Mpano, said that he has not performed for his fans as much as he would have loved to. He is fond of singing live which he said will make his performance more enjoyable.

The ‘Ndabigukundira’ hitmaker who performs at different weddings is looking forward to entertaining his fans.

"I hope to give everyone a great performance and I will be performing love songs as usual with a band,” says Mutangana.

Edouce Softman

Real name Thade Irabizi, Edouce Softman told The New Times that despite the festival being virtual, he will give people a great live performance.

Irabizi added that he missed entertaining his fans and that he will be performing different songs many people enjoyed from different years.

The New Times’ Eliane Irakoze spoke to Jean-Paul Hagenimana, mostly known as Bushali, to confirm his performance rumors and he said that he is not yet sure because he is planning on performing outside the country.

All the singers that will perform told The New Times that they have already finished recording their performances but are not sure yet when they will be aired on television.
