Mani Martin will perform headline Iwacu Muzika Festival this Saturday.

Rwanda’s Afro-Pop singer Mani Martin is set to entertain music lovers at the Iwacu Muzika festival 2021, scheduled for Saturday, July, 10.

Organisers say the virtual event will take place at Kigali Arena and, as usual, will be broadcast live on Rwanda Television at 8:45 pm.

Mani Martin has missed out on local stages and big concerts since the outbreak of covid-19.

He told The New Times that it's a pleasure to be back on stage and promised to deliver the best for music lovers this Saturday.

"Multiple international music festivals and tours that had booked me to perform have been postponed to unknown dates due to the health situation that the world is facing, but at least at Iwacu Muzika Festival I will connect again with my audience by performing live on TV and internet,” he said.

Mani Martin continued describing how he wants to use the Iwacu Musika festival to share some of the best projects he has done during the pandemic.

"I want to use this performance as an opportunity to share a bit of my new album titled ‘NOMADE’ and to express my gratitude to the most important people throughout my journey. As my latest song ‘Ingirakamaro’ says, we better learn to say thank you to our people as they are still alive and able to hear it”. He told The New Times.

"This time my repertoire includes some of the most loved songs from the latest 5 albums and some from the new ones not forgetting some music I prepared to pay tribute to some artistes who created the music that inspired me to do what I do today,” he said.

The Afro hit-maker said that he has rehearsed extensively with Kesho Band and promised a great show.

"I am so glad that my band Kesho Band and I can have this blessed moment again. This performance will also feature some expressive dances I have been working on with some dance creators, and for the very first time we are sharing what we have been up to” said Mani Martin.

Songs like Akagezi Ka Mushoroza and My Destiny are also expected to feature in his performance.

Iwacu Muzika Festival, which seeks to promote the Rwandan music industry, is organised by East African Promoters, in partnership with the Ministry of Youth and Culture, Tembera u Rwanda, RBA, among others.
