Burundian artist Olegue Baraka, also known as OLG_Olegue, was in Kigali for one month, working with Rwandan artist Abijuru King Lewis, commonly known as Papa Cyangwe on their new songs that will be released at the end of this month.

"I came to do some music projects with Papa Cyangwe, but I also worked with other music artists, and this summer, we will bring you amazing works,” said Olegue.

Olegue started his music career in 2019, where he released his first song called ‘Delegue general’, but broke into stardom with hit songs like ‘Pasta’, ‘Doctor’, and many more that have been popular both in Burundi, Rwanda.

The rising young musician said that the music industry might have challenges. However, it is a profitable industry like any other when you are committed to it and have the discipline to help you achieve your dreams.

Papa Cyangwe also shared with The New Times this summer that the duo will be releasing new hit songs for their fans, and that working with Olegue was quite the experience.

"It is always amazing to work with other artists from neighboring counties because we exchange skills and experiences,” said Papa Cyangwe.

One of their first songs is "Nzonze” which will be released on June 24, while the others will be released next month.

The duo said that they sometimes meet with challenges in the music industry, especially in the Covid-19 period. However, working together and remaining determined to achieve their goals, they always succeed and make their fans happy.

"Covid-19 stands as a big barrier to everyone, especially music artists because with the Covid-19 measures in place, concerts or any other shows are not allowed to take place, yet they are among the major sources of income for us,” said Papa Cyangwe.

They urged parents who have children with a talent in the business industry, like music or any other, to support them in following their dreams and try to understand them as they navigate that path.
