Favorites Namibia and Kenya lived up to the billing with routine semifinal wins over Nigeria and Rwanda respectively, enroute to progressing to the final of the seventh edition of Kwibuka Women’s T20 International tournament, in a title-deciding affair slated for Saturday, June 12, at Gahanga Cricket Stadium.

The business end of the tournament found the top two ranked teams of the tournament in good nick and they duly engaged ruthless mode on their way to clinching clinical victories against their semifinal rivals.

Namibia overpowered Nigeria by 91 runs in the first semifinal whereas Kenya defeated Rwanda by 52 runs in the East African Derby that attracted a good vociferous crowd.

Namibia, who remains the only side that hasn’t lost a single match during this campaign so far, have proved their title favorite credentials despite participating in the tournament for the first time since its inception in 2014.

The Southern African side is showing hunger for the title, through its key players including Sune Wittmann and Thursday’s Player of the Match Yasmeen Khan – the vice-captain and wicketkeeper batsman of Namibia after recording the highest score of the tourney with 156 for 2.

Meanwhile, Kenyans will be looking forward to proving their worth as the most-decorated team in history of the tournament , having won it on three occasions.
