Cogebanque has appointed Guillaume Habarugira as its new Chief Executive Officer replacing Cherno Gaye who left the position at the end of 2020.

Habarugira is a finance and business development professional with over 14 years of professional experience specialising in financial institutions, business (investment, treasury, payments, export, and trade finance) and economic development in emerging markets.

According to his new bio, he is experienced both in emerging markets (Africa), Europe and USA, executing market strategy on behalf of Austria’s largest banking group for its corporate and sovereign customers, interbank market participants and global payments service providers. 

Habarugira holds a Master of Science in Financial Analysis and Project Management as well as a Master of Arts in International Development Economics, Policy and Financial Analysis.
