Minister hails NUR’s students’ Expo

SOUTHERN PROVINCE HUYE- The Annual Students’ Expo, the second of its kind to be held by the National University of Rwanda (NUR) received commendation from Education Minister Dr Daphrose Gahakwa who promised prizes for top exhibitors.

HUYE- The Annual Students’ Expo, the second of its kind to be held by the National University of Rwanda (NUR) received commendation from Education Minister Dr Daphrose Gahakwa who promised prizes for top exhibitors.

Speaking during the official opening of the students’ Expo Friday, Minister Gahakwa said that she was impressed by the ‘cutting edge’ science exhibitions on different stands.

The Minister hailed the initiative saying that it instils a competitive culture in students which is a recipe for innovativeness.

"This important work should be posted on your website so that it can be used by the community. You should also consult works by other universities and learn from their experiences,” said the Gahakwa.

This year’s Expo, was held under the theme, "The NUR’s role to the achievement of EDPRS” demonstrated how the Southern Province-based varsity’s products and services fit in the implementation of the EDPRS.

The expo which ended Sunday attracted works from students’ associations, units, university centres and faculties.

The University Rector Professor Silas Lwakabamba hailed the student’s efforts in organizing the Expo saying that it promotes a culture of innovation.

He promised the University’s support to future students’ expositions.
