Volleyball: REG enter residential camp ahead of African Club Championships

Rwanda Energy Group volleyball club have started a residential camp for intensive preparations ahead of the men’s African Club Championships, which will be held in Cairo, Egypt from April 2 to 12.

Under head coach Benon Mugisha Barayavuga and his assistant Jean Luc Mbonyuwontuma, the team is camping at Hilltop and will be conducting daily training at the Amahoro Stadium before departing to Egypt on March 31.

According to Robert Ndabikunze, the team manager, 14 players are in camp, and a few more are expected to join them soon.

"The players we expect to join the camp on Monday include Olivier Ntagengwa and Yvan Ongom Yvan,” he said.

Meanwhile, Times Sport understands that champions APR have so far not started training, despite the fact that it is only 21 days before the tournament begins.
