Defending champions APR Volleyball Club are reportedly in advanced talks with Rwandan international right-attacker Nelson Murangwa to join the army side.

Times Sport understands that Murangwa is still contracted to UTB Volleyball club.

However, there are reports that the financial situation at the club is not so good, as players have not been paid for about 10 months, and this may force some of them to look for greener pastures.

It is expected that Murangwa may terminate his contract with his current employers, if talks with APR turn out well.

A source in APR who preferred because they don’t speak for the club told this publication that Murangwa has already agreed personal terms with the club.

The 27-year-old is an experienced volleyball player, who earned his maiden cap in the national team in 2013 at the age of 19.

Besides UTB, he has previously played for Rayon Sports Volleyball Club.

He has also had a rich professional career outside of Rwanda.

In the 2014/15 season, he joined Oita Miyoshi Weisel (Japan) and for 2015/16 season he signed for Middelfart VC (Denmark).

After, he left to join Liiga Riento of Finland where he played for one season before joining UTB in 2018.
