Covid-19: Total confirmed cases cross 16,000 in Rwanda

Rwanda on Friday, February 5, reported 198 new Covid-19 cases. This raised the country's total number of confirmed cases to 16,186.

According to the Ministry of Health, the new cases were identified in 24 districts of the total 30 districts that make up the country. Kigali, as it has been the case for months, reported the highest number of infections- 66.

On the other hand, Nyaruguru, Rusizi and Musanze districts reported a single Covid-19 case each- the least number of infections confirmed country-wide on Friday.

Friday also saw 265 people recovering from Covid-19, raising the tally of recoveries to 11,617 country-wide. 

On the same day, three people; a 45-year-old, 52-year-old, and 80-year-old men, succumbed to the virus.

Overall, the country has registered 213 fatalities linked to the virus.

So far, there are 24 Covid-19 patients who are critically ill.
