House helpers include house boys, housemaids, porters and these house helpers are people like any other. So, children are called upon to respect them just as they would to their parents, brothers and sisters.

These helpers have homes, relatives, parents, brothers and sisters so they are loved by their people just like the children are loved by their parents.

They belong somewhere and most of all they also have feelings especially when they are offended, under looked, despised and abused by children who may be thrice less their age.

Think about a list of all those house chores awaiting them each day. I am sure pity fills your heart if you are a child who can really feel for others.

Houseboys and house maids have to help in cleaning up - mopping the house, washing plates, making the beds in a proper and neat way, cooking good food, washing and ironing clothes including uniforms and giving good company to little children.

Porters have to make sure that the compound looks smart and admirable by watering in the flower gardens, cutting the grass short so that when you are relaxing in the smart and well designed compound you can feel comfortable and freshened up.

If the house helpers weren’t available life wouldn’t be so much friendly since mum and dad would be tied at home to do what the house helpers do.

What would follow is that our parents wouldn’t earn money for up keep and you know that life would end up being hard and miserable.

Children should try hard to see to it that the house helpers are obeyed, respected and listened to. Avoid abusing them, calling them funny names that may upset them.

If you do all that then they will find no reason to be harsh, beat you up in mum and dad’s absence but they will only keep you good company.

If there is anything that has not gone on well with you and the house helpers keep it to your mind till the parents are back from work and then you can report to them to have your problem solved rather than shouting at them, imitating and throwing stones.

Stay friendly and polite to house helpers then you are sure you will live a happy life there after.
