Covid-19: Rwanda reports over 160 new cases, two fatalities

Rwanda reported 169 new Covid-19 infections and two deaths linked to this virus on Sunday, January 10.

The deceased were a 53-year-old woman and an 81-year-old man.

According to results obtained from 2,362 sample tests taken in the last 24 hours, of the new infections, 125 were detected in Kigali.

Musanze and Rubavu districts confirmed 15 and 11 cases respectively, whereas Nyagatare district reported six cases and Huye district four infections.

Meanwhile, Rusizi and Rulindo districts confirmed three and two Covid-19 cases respectively. One infection was reported in Nyanza, Nyamasheke and Bugesera districts.

As of date, Rwanda has confirmed 9,630 Covid-19 cases. However, of these, 6,974 have already recovered.

The country's death toll stands at 120.
