It was all smiles for people living with disabilities in Gasabo district on Thursday, December 10, when they received 20 wheelchairs from Ndineza organization.

Founded by artiste Aline Gahongayire in 2016, Ndineza organisations is a Christian Non-governmental organisation that seeks to empower people living with disabilities, sexually abused and other vulnerable groups of people.

The donation was given in partnership with Food for Hungry international and the administration of Gasabo district. Each wheelchair donated is worth Rwf 450,000.

Aline Gahongayire, the brain behind initiative said that these charity actions were born out of love, and their purpose is to create an equal and friendly society.

"I have one message for you ‘I love you”, This is the message I have and I wish to express my love for you because love is the bond of unity, friendship and social welfare”, she noted.

Recently, the 37-year old received a lot of backlash from some members of the public accusing her of being a hypocritical philanthropist.

For the singer however, this did not discourage her from commencing her philanthropic activities,  but instead motivated her.

"For a true believer, this cannot discourage you. In every opportunity, there is an opposition. So, this should happen, but for a believer it should make you do more, and more is in the pipeline," she replied.

Zina victor, a 57-year old who got polio at 10 years old is one of the beneficiaries of this donation.

She applauded Ndineza organisation for their kind acts.

"We are always told that disability is not inability, but actions talk louder than words. Initiatives like these show us that Rwandan people still have faith in us. This is where the motivation comes from," he said.
