29 people tested positive for Covid-19 in Rwanda on Thursday, November 19, raising the tally of the country's positive cases to 5,543.

The results were obtained from 2,709 Covid-19 sample tests taken in the last 24 hours.

Three of the new cases were detected in Kigali, whereas Bugesera and Musanze districts confirmed 10 cases and one infection respectively.

Meanwhile, Nyanza and Rubavu reported 11 infections and four positive cases respectively.

On the same day, 50 people recovered from the virus. 

In total, 5,137 people have recovered from Covid-19 in Rwanda.

So far, the country's Covid-19 death toll stands at 46.

Currently, 596,686 Covid-19 sample tests have been conducted in Rwanda.

On Thursday, November 19, Rwanda was added to the UK’s travel corridor list, which means that travellers arriving in England, Wales and Northern Ireland from Rwanda will be exempt from 14 days' mandatory self-isolation on arrival from November 21. 

According to British High Commissioner, "the United Kingdom recognises Rwanda’s impressive Covid19 response."
