Covid-19: Rwanda registers three deaths, 61 infections

Three men aged 36, 62 and 85 years succumbed to Covid-19 in Rwamagana District on Sunday, November 15.

This raised the country's number of Covid-19 fatalities to 45.

On the same day, 61 people tested positive for the virus. 

They include 55 positive cases identified in Kigali's Nyarugenge Prison, and one detected in Nyamagabe District.

Bugesera and Rwamagana districts also confirmed four Covid-19 infections each. 

The latest update was obtained from 1,449 Covid-19 sample tests taken in the last 24 hours.

So far, prisons are the country’s main Covid-19 hotspot, after infections have been already reported from Nsinda, Nyarugenge and Muhanga prisons.

Rwanda currently has 5,455 total Covid-19 confirmed cases of whom 4, 995 have already recovered.

The country has so far carried out 586,989 Covid-19 tests.
