Rwanda registers fifth Covid-19 death in three days

An 88 year-old man succumbed to Covid-19 in Rwamagana district on Wednesday, November 11, becoming the fifth person to die from the Virus in Rwanda since Monday.

The victims is from Rwamagana, just like those from the fatalities registered over the past three days.

This raised the tally of the country’s Covid-19 death toll to 41.

According to the Ministry of Health, the previous four fatalities were reported from Rwamagana district’s Nsinda Prison that recently confirmed 13 Covid-19 infections.

Meanwhile, on Wednesday, 27 people tested positive for Covid-19 in Nyarugenge prison, whereas Kirehe and Rubavu districts reported 6 and 12 new Covid-19 infections respectively.

Five Covid-19 cases were also identified in Rwamagana district.

On the same day, seven people recovered from the Virus.

The results were obtained from 2,860 sample tests taken in the last 24 hours.

Rwanda has so far confirmed a total of 5,312 Covid-19 cases of whom 4, 974 have already recovered.

577,736 tests for the Virus have been conducted so far in Rwanda.
