Rwanda registers one new Covid-19 death after a week with no fatality

A 73-year-old woman succumbed to Covid-19 in Rwanda on Thursday, November 5.

Prior to the latest update on the pandemic, the recent date that the country announced a Covid-19 fatality was on October 27.

The country’s Covid-19 death toll so far stands at 36 people.

Meanwhile, on Thursday, Rwanda also reported 18 new Covid-19 infections.

Of the new positive cases, one was detected in Kigali, two in Gatsibo District, three in Nyagatare district, and 12 among Nyamagabe District’s high-risk groups.

The latest results were obtained from 1,805 sample tests taken in the last 24 hours.

Since the outbreak of the pandemic in Rwanda by mid-March, the country has confirmed a total of 5,192 Covid-19 cases of whom 4, 940 have already recovered.

564,676 tests for the virus have been conducted so far in Rwanda.
