Knowing what to eat is easy but discovering where to find it can be tricky. The right place to eat out is one that matches your personal taste and budget. Kigali city continues to astound with new and ever evolving imaginative food offerings which highlight the fantastic diversity this country has to offer.

If you are new in the city or eating out is new to you then getting by might not be that easy. If you can’t decide or find a place to eat out check out these spots.

The Chez Lando hotel, Kisimenti

The hotel provides a choice between a bar atmosphere and an indoor restaurant, that probably provides the best goat brochette in town.

Other available choices include, fish, steak.berbecued chicken, mushroom sauces The chef’s best includes pizzas and tantalizing snack picks. Budget between Rwf 5000 to 20000.

Torero  cafe (town)

Great atmosphere at reasonable prices. Ideal for that perfect girls’ night out. A relaxed mood ideal after a hard day’s work. The sitting area has beautiful seats and the balcony; sometimes candle lit making the mood really serene.

Chef specialty includes mutton chops, fries and burgers, Pizza and incredible soup servings. Budget of around Rwf 10000.

Sole-luna (near Kisimenti)

A great pizza joint. The pasta is to die for and all for reasonable prices. Very busy on weekends but the customer service is very efficient. The music is cool and really relaxing a great place to hangout on weekends.

Some of the house specialties include Pizza ‘Sole Luna’, Brochetta, Lasagna and of course a glass of red wine to wash it all down.

La Petit Prince hotel (Kacyiru)

The beautiful orange hotel. A cool atmosphere as you bask in the restaurant’s amazing deco and soothing music. The hotel is known for its great buffet choices and amazing snack picks.

Some of the chef’s best include, pork, chicken, chips, brochettes, sandwitches and of course the greatest mutton curry. Dinner for two goes for about Rwf 20000.

Bourbon MTN Center

One of the best coffee houses in town with wireless internet access, leather sofas and incredible interiors. Coffee goes for around Rwf 2000.

Best coffee around served in all forms and sizes. African tea at its best. Muffins and cookies, the menu is full of interesting choices for breakfast lunch and dinner. The sandwitches are marvelous.

Nouvelle Planete, Remera

A pocket friendly joint. The restaurant has a variety to choose from. The buffet is amazing and the service is excellent. Local dishes dominate the menu which is perfect for a tourist.

Among the chefs specialty is fried beans, sombe, sandwitshes, rice and matoke. Buffet with incredible selection is at a reasonable offer of Rwf 1500.

Baba’s, KBC

This is one of the most popular weekday lunch time spots. It’s self service and the line moves very fast. The fish, chicken, the soup is very great all for a very reasonable price.

The salad is really inviting and delicious. The joint is really clean and amazingly organized. The food comes with free cup of juice which is really nice. Lunch is served for a price of Rwf2,500.

Afrika bite

The restaurant has a home set up with an African décor. Food is served by the garden which is lit at night. Quite classy but not overly expensice.Known for great local dishes from cassava, groundnut soups, matoke, chicken, beef to fish and a variety of drinks.

The atmosphere is cool and the space sufficient for everyone. Eat out in beautifully manicured gardens for Rwf 5000. Great for a lunch time meetings.

Serena Hotel, Nyarugenge

The hotel has excellent dining restaurant ideal for that perfect first date or an office bash. Service and quality of food is worth its price. The hotel is ideal for a conference or meeting.

The buffet is full of incredible choices. It’s an ideal place for a quite meal. The food variety range from mutton, fish, chicken, incredible rice, sauces, and the best steak picks in Kigali.
