After organising a successful ‘Iwacu Muzika’ festival, East African Promoters (EAP) is effective Saturday, November 7, bringing more live concerts on your screens to create a platform for budding artistes to exhibit their musical talent before Rwandans. A number of established Rwandan musicians are also expected to show.

 Dubbed My Talent, the concerts are dedicatedly organised to bring young and upcoming artistes on the stage and give them a chance to showcase their talent to the bigger audience live on Rwanda Television (RTV).

Speaking about the event Joseph Mushyoma, the brains behind the concerts, said the concept was brought about to give a platform to young but fast-rising Rwandans musicians to showcase the best their talent can offer to music fans through live performances.

Mushyoma explained that all the artistes who performed at the recently concluded Iwacu Muzika festival will not part in the gigs, to allow other artistes an opportunity to entertain music lovers from the comfort of their homes, since concert and festivals are among the events that were cancelled due to Covid-19 concerns.

 "There are a number of upcoming artistes who are tirelessly working hard to put their music to another level. As we keep thinking of what to do to entertain people from home during the Covid-19, we thought of bringing these concerts on board to create a platform through which they can join some experienced artists on the same stage and show what they have got for their supporters,” Mushyoma said.

"From our experience, we had a successful festival and people’s feedback motivated us to bring these live concerts to keep entertainment alive. I believe we chose some good and talented artists for the public and, with their talent, they are ready to deliver the best to make the audience happy” he added.

A total of ten upcoming artists were lined up to grace My Talent live concerts, where each artist is expected to headline a one-hour performance every Saturday from 10.30 pm.

Traditional ‘Gakondo’ singer Jules Sentore will grace the opening concert on Saturday, November 7, while Kina Music duo Nel Ngabo and Platini Nemeye, who parted ways with his long-time music partner TMC, will close the concerts on December 31, just a few minutes before the New Year celebrations.

Other performers include Marina, Peace Jolis, B-Threy, Mico The Best, Yverry, Uncle Austin and The Voice Afrique finalist Alyn Sano.

 "We, players in the entertainment industry, are still struggling with the situation of this pandemic because people can’t gather at venues for big concerts, but we want that they can still be entertained from home by enjoying the talent produced by upcoming artistes doing their best to impress their audience,” he added.

Before an artist performs, a short video documentary will be played to show the artist’s musical journey and what inspired him/her to pursue a music career.
