Everything will be on the line when former champions IPRC Huye and last year’s beaten finalists the Hoops Rwanda go head to head in the women’s final of the 2019/20 BK Basketball National League on Saturday.

The title decider gets underway at 3:30pm, at Kigali Arena.

IPRC Huye, champions of the 2017/18 season, are widely seen as overwhelming favourites for the club’s second league title after winning all their group games before crushing out reigning champions APR in the semi-finals on Friday.

Guard Nelly Sandra Nsanzabaganwa top-scored with 19 points and 14 rebounds as Claude Muhirwa’s IPRC Huye saw off APR 67-52 in the women’s first semi-final.

In a post-game interview, head coach Muhirwa noted that, "We are close to accomplishing our goal of the season – winning the league – but we are facing a strong opponent. The Hoops are not a team to undermine in any way, we won’t take anything for granted.”

"We have to make sure we give it everything we got for victory, there is no margin of error.. The simplest details will determine the game.”

On the other hand, the Hoops Rwanda, who are looking for the first league title, reached the final after outhustling Ubumwe 69-53 in the second semi-final as Feza Ebengo recorded a stunning double-double of 29 points and 25 rebounds.

After their most important victory of the season, so far, the Hoops star Zainah Angellah Lokwameri credited their victory to ‘keeping composure and collective game.’

"They came out strong, and the game was really difficult – especially at the start. It is our collective game that pulled us through,” said Lokwameri.

Meanwhile, beaten semi-finalists APR and Ubumwe face off for the third-place in the first game of the day. Kick-off 10:30am.
