26 new Covid-19 infections detected in a refugee camp

Rwanda on Wednesday, October 14, reported 32 new Covid-19 cases, of whom 26 were confirmed in Mahama Refugee Camp in Kirehe District, Eastern Province.

Gatsibo District also reported three new infections of the pandemic, while Rubavu and Gicumbi districts confirmed two Covid-19 cases and one case respectively.

On the same day, a 42 year-old man succumbed to the pandemic .

Meanwhile, 268 people recovered from Covid-19 in the country.

The results were obtained from 1,753 sample tests taken in the last 24 hours.

Since the outbreak of the pandemic in Rwanda by mid-March, the country has confirmed a total of 4,940 Covid-19 cases of whom 4,398 have already recovered.

Concerning testing, in total, Rwanda has carried out 521,137 tests of Covid-19.
