Rwanda records another Covid-19 death, 8 infections among truck drivers

A 51-year-old man succumbed to Covid-19 in Rwanda on Monday, October 12, raising the tally of the country’s virus fatalities to 32.

On the same day, eight new infections of the pandemic were reported, of which eight are truck drivers in Nyagatare District, Eastern Province.

Kayonza District also confirmed one positive Covid-19 case.

Meanwhile, Monday also saw 271 patients recovering from the virus.

The results were obtained from 2,149 sample tests taken in the last 24 hours.

Since the outbreak of the pandemic in Rwanda in mid-March, the country has confirmed a total of 4,905 Covid-19 cases of whom 3,877 have already recovered.

Concerning testing, in total, Rwanda has carried out 521,137 tests of Covid-19.
