The New Times' Readers' platform Guidelines for submission
Thursday, October 01, 2020
With the Readers' call on the News, The New Times is proud to present the first interactive platform in Africa for news articles.

What is the Readers Platform?

The Readers platform is an opportunity for readers to get closer to The New Times by submitting story ideas they would like to read, watch and see covered by news organisations.

To ensure that this platform serves its purpose, The New Times has put in place guidelines to ensure that the stories are not in violation of journalistic ethical standards and principles or contravene Rwandan laws.

1. No hate speech

The New Times will not approve stories that promote hate speech or any aggressive stance against anyone. No innuendos will be accepted without clear evidence.

2. Misinformation isn’t welcome

The New Times will not approve stories spreading fake news or conspiracy theories. Every story submitted should have clear sources or proof as starting points.

3. Negationism banned

All stories’ ideas that promote divisionism and negate The 1994 Genocide Against The Tutsi will not be approved.
