After previously targeting October 30 as the starting day for the 2020/21 Rwanda Premier League, the Rwanda Football Federation (Ferwafa) has announced that the season has been postponed until further notice.

Ferwafa informed clubs of the new development in a letter last Friday, noting that matches remain suspended indefinitely.

"The league won’t start until it’s safe and appropriate to do so,” reads part of the letter.

"The restart date is under constant review with all stakeholders as the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic develops. We work together through this very challenging time, and October 30 is clearly not a realistic target.”

The 2019/20 season was halted at match-day 23 in March before it was prematurely ended in May, with APR crowned champions as table leaders with seven match rounds to play.
