Rwanda registers third Covid-19 death in a week

The Ministry of Health on Thursday, September 10, announced the death of a 62-year-old woman who succumbed to the pandemic in Kigali.

The deceased is the third to be registered this week, following other two women, one aged 70 years old and another one aged 71 years, who also died of the pandemic.

So far, the country’s Covid-19 death toll stands at 22 people.

Meanwhile, on the same day, 19 new positive cases and 27 recoveries were reported.

According to the Ministry of Health, of the new cases, 16 were detected in Kigali’s high-risk groups while two cases and one Covid-19 case were confirmed Gisagara and Rubavu districts respectively.

The latest results were obtained from 2,838 sample tests conducted in the last 24 hours.

Since the outbreak, the country has carried out 454,246 tests.

So far, since the outbreak of the pandemic in the country in mid-March, Rwanda has recorded a total of 4,479 Covid-19 confirmed cases of whom 2,352 have already recovered.
