Much has been said of a possible breakup between the dynamic Rwandan all-girl duo Charly na Nina who have in recent years taken the music scene by the storm but the two insist they are still holding up despite rumours circulating in local media.

Charlotte Rurinda, known as Charly and Nina Muhoza have come out to refute reports in local media that their seven-year music journey together could be coming to an end.

Reports emerged last week that all is not well between Charly na Nina who enjoyed a phenomenal rise on the local and regional music scene since they broke out in 2014. However, the rumours around the crew are far from the truth, according to Charly.

"It is not true. I guess that is what they wish for us but you can’t stop people from talking,” said Charly in an interview with The New Times.

In March, Nina was seen performing alone in a concert and rumors about the duo’s possible breakup started to spread ever since.

Things went from bad to worse after Nina deleted some pictures on Instagram which she appears alongside her partner in music Charly.

In addition to that, not even one song was, since March, has been recorded between the two music divas, who were once regarded as the best female music group in the country, apart from featuring together in Yvan Buravan’s collaboration ‘Oroha’.

However, for Charly, people have interpreted things their own way, saying that the release of new songs has been affected by the Coronavirus, as has been the case to a big number of artists in Rwanda.

"We are all affected by the new coronavirus but we are fine. I don’t have so much to say about this but our supporters need to know one thing. We are fine and more songs are loading very soon,” she added.

Some say Charly na Nina’s music has never been the same since the duo parted ways with their manager Alex Muyoboke back in early 2018 after five successful years under his management Decent Entertainment but the girls insist all is well.

The future of their music remains unclear until they prove doubters wrong and bounce back with new music. Until then, some will still say that there is no smoke.
