The Rwanda Investigation Bureau (RIB) has paraded a 34-year-old Rwandan man suspected of trafficking women into sex jobs within the country. According to RIB, he has been earning money from men to connect them with "high-class girls," a business he was doing alongside a network of other culprits who would assist in finding women to be used in these illegal activities. Thierry Murangira, the Acting Spokesperson of RIB, said that he is suspected of having committed crimes including sex trafficking, fraudulently taking ownership of property belonging to someone else, and impersonation. Murangira said that, according to some witnesses, Bizimana sometime back received 300 dollars from a man, and in return he connected him with a girl for a sex job; after which he (Bizimana)  took a share of 200 dollars while the girl in question took 100 dollars. RIB said that he also stole ID cards from various people and used them to register a number of sim cards which he has been using to carry out his illegal activities. "He was arrested with ten sim cards. One of those had been used recently to commit a crime where the caller was asking people to assist him look for high-class girls so that he can match them with men for money," Murangira said,  adding that Bizimana would promise his accomplices that he would give them commission if they assisted him to find girls. Sex trafficking is punished with jail term of 3 years but not above 5 years; and a fine of not less than 3 million but not above 5 million Rwandan francs. Fraudulently gaining ownership of someone else's property is punished by a term in jail not less than 2 years but not above 5 years; and a fine not less than 3 million but not more than 5 million Rwandan francs. Murangira thanked Rwandans for partnering with RIB by delivering information concerning such crimes, but he also warned the public against such schemes. "We ask people, especially the youth to be careful not to be deceived into acts like sexual immorality, " he said.
