ADIL Erradi has warned his APR players that the forthcoming season is going to be a ‘busy and tough’ campaign.

Speaking at a press conference on Sunday, July 19, the Moroccan tactician said that he had confidence in his players to impress in the 2020-21 Caf Champions League and on domestic scene, but he also acknowledged they have to step up their game.

The army side will be targeting Rayon Sports’ record as the only Rwandan side to ever reach the group stage of any continental club competition. The Blues reached the quarter-finals of the 2018 Caf Confederation Cup.

"I have had time to observe and assess our (Rwandan) football against the level of other countries, and I think reaching the group stage is a reasonable target,” said Erradi.

"It is very important that we start well and approach every game as the final, obviously we will also need to step up our game in some aspects”

Come the new season for African football season, APR will be returning to the continental stage after a one-year absence following the club’s failure to win either of the two major titles – league title and Peace Cup – in local football during the 2018-19 season.

APR have failed to impress in continental competitions despite dominating the domestic scene where they have won 18 league titles and nine Peace Cups in the last 25 years.

The black-and-white outfit bowed out of the 2018-19 Champions League from the preliminary round after losing 3-1 to Tunisian side Club Africain in a two-legged tie.
