Rwanda reports 20 new cases of Covid-19

Rwanda on Thursday, June 25 recorded 20 new coronavirus cases.

This brought the tally of confirmed cases to 850 countrywide.

On the same day, nine patients were discharged from treatment centres after recovery, increasing the overall recovery count to 385.

All these new cases were drawn from 4,757 sample tests that were conducted on Thursday, according to the daily update by the Ministry of Health.

In total, the country has since the first Covid-19 on March 14 taken 126,284 sample tests.

Two people have so far succumbed to the virus.

Among the confirmed cases in the last twenty-four hours, 14 were from Rusizi, four from Kigali and two from Kirehe.

Since the start of June this year, Rusizi has become the main hotspot of the new Covid-19 cases in Rwanda.

The virus has been contracted by 9,637,712 people worldwide whereas 5,235,032 have recovered from the virus. 

The world has reported 489,355 deaths due to coronavirus.
