The Egyptian Football Association   wants Fifa to postpone the third and final round of the 2010 World/Africa Cup qualifier against Rwanda which is scheduled for June 10 in Kigali.

According to filgoal.com, the Egyptian FA is planning to inform Fifa the difficulty of facing Rwanda on June 10, following Algeria’s alteration to the original date of their 2010 World Cup qualifiers meeting with Egypt.

The FA received a notification from the Algerian Football Federation over the weekend, setting June 7 as the new date of their qualifier, one day later than the pre-agreed fixture date.

Algeria have informed Egypt that their long-awaited World Cup showdown will now be played on June 7 and not June 6 as earlier agreed.

This change in date means that African champions Egypt will only have less than three days to prepare for the next World Cup game against Rwanda.

"Following a meeting with the first team’s technical staff, the FA decided to inform Fifa that it would be difficult to play the World Cup qualifier with Rwanda on June 10th after playing in Algeria on June 7th, just 72 hours earlier,” a statement on the FA’s official site stated.

Egypt, who kick off their World Cup qualifying campaign against Zambia on March 29 in Cairo, will take part in this year’s Fifa Confederations Cup.

The African champions will face Brazil, Italy and USA in Group B in South Africa, who will host the competition starting June 15th.

The Pharaohs have been drawn along with Algeria, Rwanda and Zambia in Group C of the World Cup qualifier.

While the first three places of each group will qualify to the 2010 African Cup of Nations in Angola, winners of each group will directly qualify to the same year’s World Cup in South Africa.
