Creative writing encourages kids to exercise their creative minds and practice using their imaginations. It improves their ability to come up with alternatives. This broadens their thought processes, which can lead to success in many areas, including problem solving and analysis.

Creative writing helps children to develop their communication and persuasion skills. The art of writing and creating something that is believable to a reader, requires a lot of thought, and the use of words to pass across a message. Children learn how to find which words are the best to use in expressing their ideas.

Here are seven benefits of completing creative writing exercises on a regular basis.

• Building confidence.

• Artistic self-expression.

• Thought clarification.

• Better understanding of the mechanics of reading and writing.

• Empathy and communication skills.

• Better mental, emotional, and physical health.

• Their sentence structure, vocabulary, and use of punctuation will be notably more advanced than others of the same age who do not practice.

Why is writing important in early childhood?

Teaching students at a young age to write improves their reading skills by helping them recognise the connection between the letters they see and the sounds the letter make. Everything we can do as educators to build a strong relationship with the written word is important for a child’s future development
