Rwanda records 3 more COVID-19 cases

Rwanda on Wednesday April 22 recorded 3 more COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number to 153 confirmed cases.

84 have recovered and 69 patients are still being treated. 

The 3 confirmed cases were diagonised among 1,038 tested samples in previous 24 hours. 

With no reported fatality recorded so far, the Ministry of Health said in a statement that all active cases are in stable condition at designated COVID-19 treatment centres.

However, one of the patients is currently receiving oxygen therapy, which the Ministry says is a precaution. 

The first case of COVID-19 was recorded on March 14. Cautionary measures have been imposed by the governemnt since March 21st and is expected to last until April 30th.

The recent preventive measure is the mandatory use of face masks in public and in multi-family compounds.

The announcement emphasised the need for the public to continue observing all preventive measure in place. It also reminds that withholding related to COVID-19 is punishable by law. 

Globally, over 2.6 million COVID-19 cases have been confirmed and nearly 200,000 deaths were lost.
