Rwanda internationals Muhadjiri Hakizimana and Djihad Bizimana have joined government efforts in providing emergency relief donation to needy people during the coronavirus lockdown.

Midfielder Bizimana, who features for Belgian side Waasland Beveren and Hakizimana, a forward for Emirates Football Club, in the United Arab Emirates, are both key players of the senior national football team – Amavubi.

The former APR teammates on Sunday, April 19, delivered foodstuff to 130 family members settled in the village of Nyakabanda Sector, of Nyarugenge District.

Among other items, the donation package included rice, cooking oil, sugar and maize flour.

The Covid-19 pandemic has greatly disrupted sport and all other industries in the world, and at local level as well, with every sport activity suspended since mid-March to curb its spread.

As of Sunday, Rwanda had recorded a total of 147cases, but 76 had recovered and been discharged.
