10 advance for Miss Career Africa 2020 bootcamp set for Kigali

Ten girls have been selected out of 15, who were tussling it out for Miss Career Africa 2020, West African edition, to advance for the boot camp expected to be held in Kigali by the end of the year if all goes well.

The 10 include contestants are from Ghana, Togo and eight from Nigeria. Cornelia Quaye from Ghana, who got the highest number of votes and Assaba Cinthia Consuela Koffi from Togo will be joined by Roselyn Ikechukwu, Ifunanya Eze, Hassanat Raji, Habeebat Bamidele, Imade Iyamu, Moyinoluwa Anifowose, Orabelema Jamabo and Oluwadamilola Akintewe from Nigeria. Five of the contestants were eliminated, leaving the 10 to proceed to the bootcamp in Kigali, in case travel is fully restored.

The organisers made the announcement on different platforms, wishing the girls success as they compete to become Miss Africa 2020. 10 girls will be picked from each region of the content, all meeting in Kigali for the boot camp.

"They are now among 50 contestants where the winner for the big title MISS CAREER AFRICA will be selected from! May the best win! Let’s meet in November in Kigali (Rwanda) for the grand finale,”

The organisers of Miss Career Africa describe it as "Africa’s radical girls’ education promotion and emancipation based program that originated after two years successful career guidance for the Esther Girls Scholarship Program-Girls (An American project that offers scholarships and Character formation to the vulnerable girls of Rwanda).

The Miss Career Africa program empowers young female professionals and entrepreneurs and those aspiring students through provision of university scholarships, career guidance, Entrepreneurship incubation development, leadership training, and networking

The Africa’s young female professionals, who are between the ages of 18 and 24, have established records of accomplishment in illuminating the hope of innovation and positive impact in their organisations, institutions, communities, and countries.

The contest seeks to empower at least 450,000 girls across the continent. Selection takes place in all regions of the continent, each sending 10 girls to the boot camp

Apart from Miss Career Africa 2020, also selected is Miss Speaker, Miss Technology, Miss Hospitality, Miss Science, Miss Talent and Miss Art. Contestants are aged between 18 and 24.
