The President of the Football Federation (TFF), Wallace Karia has said that Jean Baptiste Mugiraneza and Meddie Kagere will not be allowed to return to Tanzania until the coronavirus pandemic is managed and the situation returns back to normalcy.

Karia further warned Tanzania Premier League clubs that if they allow their foreign players to return to their home countries then they will not be allowed to return to Tanzania if the suspension of the league is lifted after 30 days.

"We have reminded the clubs that if in 30 days the league resumes, it will not be automatic that foreign players who left the country will be allowed in until we are sure about their health. Some countries might take longer in combating the Coronavirus, something that will have an impact on people coming to Tanzania

Therefore our advice is that foreign players should stay in Tanzania until the league resumes,” Karia said.

Meddie Kagere who plays for SC Simba and Jean Baptiste Mugiraneza who features for Kinodoni Municipalities Club (KMC) returned to Kigali on Friday after Tanzania Football Federation (TFF), suspended the league for 30 days.

Simba leads the Tanzanian top-flight football league with 71 points while Mugiraneza’s KMC is in15th place in the 20 team league with 33 points.
