Kigali Arena will, for the first time in the 2019-20 BK Basketball National League, host games Friday night.

The 10,000-seat modern facility, which was inaugurated last August, last hosted games during the Eastern Division qualifiers for the Basketball Africa League (BAL 2020) inaugural season.

Two games are on the card Friday; with former champions Espoir taking on reigning champions Patriots at 7pm before hopefuls Rwanda Energy Group (REG) face in-form IPRC-Kigali at 9pm.

Third-placed IPRC-Kigali – at 16 points – have only lost twice after nine games, while leaders REG lost one game at the hands of former giants APR.

As part of the precautionary measures amid the global coronavirus pandemic, the local basketball governing body (Ferwaba) has banned pre and post-game handshakes or hugs.
