APR and unbeaten Rwanda Energy Group (REG) face off Friday night in a highly anticipated game of the BK Basketball National League at Amahoro Indoor Stadium.

The game starts at 7pm.

It is a game that carries a lot of meaning for both sides as leaders REG look to stretch their perfect start this season, while former champions APR are keen on moving into second place.

Ahead of their crunch, REG are top with maximum 12 points after six games, while army side APR lie in fourth place with 9 points from five games, having lost once and won on four occasions.

"We have a serious fixture against REG, and it is always a tough one,” Aime Karim Nkusi, the APR head coach, admitted in an interview with this publication on Thursday.

"All my players are fit, and mentally ready for the game. We will ensure that, whatever the outcome, everyone gives it their best on the court.”

Despite REG leading the head-to-head record in the last four years, assistant coach Maxime Mwiseneza has warned his players that, "There is no room for complacency.”

The black-and-red outfit are bidding for a second league title, and the first since clinching the 2016/2017 championship in their first season.
