Friday Police vs Gasogi

Rwanda Premier League title hopefuls, Police will be hoping that they can reduce the gap on league leaders APR FC when they host Gasogi United at Kigali Stadium on Friday, February 7.

Five points separate Police and APR, with the latter playing Marines on Sunday. After 18 matches into the 2019/20 Rwanda Premier League, Police has won 10, drawn 7 and lost just one.

A win for Police will take coach Francis Haringingo’s team to second place, two points behind league leaders APR. Rayon Sports can return back to second place if they beat Bugesera on Sunday.

"This is a very important game for us because we want to win it not only to close the gap on APR, but also to give ourselves a chance at challenging for the league title,” noted Haringingo.

"Gasogi United is a good side and have made a good start. They can harm anyone in this division, so we must be careful because we want to win and keep the pressure on APR and Rayon if we are to remain in the title race,” Burundian added.

Gasogi is ninth on the league table with 22 points and a win for them will see them jump to fifth place with 25 points. Both sides played a goalless draw in the first leg back in October.

"We have made staying in the top flight league our key priority this season and at least finish in the top eight,” head coach Guy Bukasa said.
