Emmanuel Ruremesha, SC Kiyovu head coach, says his side can snatch the Ubutwari Cup title away from APR come Saturday, February 1, at Amahoro Stadium.

Red-hot favourites APR top the table with a maximum six points after two matches following their second win on Tuesday, a 1-0 overPolice, and a draw against SC Kiyovu will be enough to retain the title they last year.

Mumena-based Kiyovu are second with three points and a one-goal difference, two short of APR’s goal difference.

Victory on Saturday, coupled with a slip-up for third-placed Police, who face bottom side Mukura, would hand the title to Ruremesha’s SC Kiyovu.

According to the tournament’s regulations; when two or more teams are tied on points, goal difference is considered next. And, when they share the same goal difference, then head-to-head record comes into play.

"It is going to be a difficult game on both sides, but especially for us since we must win if we are to win the title,” Ruremesha told Times Sport on Thursday. "I believe we have what it takes to win the match, and I have confidence in my players for the challenge.”

The Green Baggies moved up to second after thrashing Mukura 4-2 on Tuesday as they bounced back from last Saturday’s 2-1 loss to Police.

"We need to give it our very best against APR. Such games are decided by the smallest of details, I have spoken with my players and they understand well the magnitude of the match.”
